Georgia Tech is an active member of the Center for the Integration of Research, Teaching and Learning (CIRTL) Network. The CIRTL Network is comprised of 40 research universities that collaborate to prepare future faculty in all disciplines, with a particular emphasis on STEM fields. Cross-network learning resources are available free of charge to students, postdoc, faculty, and staff at Georgia Tech. 

CIRTL offers a variety of high-quality professional development resources each semester. Their core programming includes an two asynchronous MOOCs on college teaching, several synchronous 8-week courses with participants from other CIRTL network institutions, short-engagement workshops, and drop-in webinars featuring nationally-known speakers. In addition to programming that explores CIRTL's core ideas of evidence-based teaching, learning through diversity, learning through community, and teaching-as-research, CIRTL offers resources for future faculty entering academic careers, including a job board and a thriving alumni network.

Available Now: CIRTL Associate Certificates 

Tech to Teaching is Georgia Tech's original teaching certificate. The foundation level of the Tech to Teaching certificate overlaps with the Associate Level CIRTL certificate. Therefore, participants earn the CIRTL Associate Level certificate upon completion of the foundation level of Tech to Teaching. 

Some CIRTL cross-network programming, such as the CIRTL MOOC and the College Classroom course, can be used to satisfy some of the foundation-level learning outcomes in Tech to Teaching. Visit the Tech to Teaching page for details.

Available in the Future: CIRTL Practitioner and Scholar Certificates

Teaching-as-Research (TAR) is "the deliberate, systematic, and reflective use of research methods by instructors to develop and implement teaching practices that advance the learning experiences and outcomes of both students and teachers." TAR projects encourage educators to identify opportunities to improve teaching and learning through intentional problem identification, intervention, and assessment. The CIRTL Practitioner Level certificate is awarded for designing and conducting a TAR project; the Scholar Level certificate is awarded for disseminating the study results through a conference presentation or publication. Participants who achieved the CIRTL Associate certificate may submit an application to receive the Pracitioner and/or Scholar designation. {Coming soon}
